Resting in the serene Phobjikha Valley, Gangtey Lodge offers an immersive rural experience with scenic views of the valley floor and the 16th-century Gangtey Goemba monastery. Experience a spiritual cleansing ritual led by a local monk, where selected herbs are burned in a fumigation stupa to dispel negative energy and banish bad spirits.
An Amankora family member will accompany you to the local shops where you purchase ingredients before offering a meal to one of 130 monks in this nearby monastery.
Over 100 children attend the local school in Phobjika, some walking from distant mountains. A visit allows observation of the education system, and invites interaction with the students.
